Researchers met with local farmers in Yilou, Burkina Faso to discuss the preliminary modeling results of the LUCIA model

Researchers met with local farmers in Yilou, Burkina Faso to discuss the preliminary modeling results of the LUCIA model, University of Hohenheim. Aim was, to create a benefit for both sides, the farmers and researchers, by giving feedback on their work. Thanks to the good presentation, a lively discussion commenced. Researchers provided a different perspective of their well-known home lands to the farmers by showing them satellite images and modelled crop production results. On the other hand, farmers contributed by verifying these results and revealing expert knowledge of the Yilou area. With these important insights, researchers can refine their investigations. In conclusion, the meeting is a paradigm of how the CONNESSA approach, connecting scales and actors, works out well for all participants.
